Women's History Month 2019 Profile: Shel Pink

Shel Pink, Founder of SPARITUAL

How would your peers describe your personality?

Creative, Joyful, Inspiring

When did you consider yourself a success? How did this make you feel?

Success to me is an ongoing consideration. I define success as showing up and being present in my work and in my relationships, and doing my best. When I truly "show up," when I'm fully present, I feel joyful.

What is the biggest challenge you have come across in your career and how did you handle this?

I haven't had one biggest challenge in my career. Challenges are part of any job. When they do arise I try my best to be thoughtful, reflective and proactive about how I handle them.

What do you do to keep yourself motivated and interested in your work?

I love my work. Self-care rituals like a good night's sleep, meditation, exercise, eating healthy food, and spending quality time with family and friends keeps me feeling motivated and engaged in my work and life.

What are you most proud of?

My family, SPARITUAL, and writing a book on the Slow Beauty philosophy.

What inspired you when you were younger?

Nature, Music and Art have always inspired me, and continue to inspire me.

What nail color makes you feel most confident?

There isn't one particular color. Healthy, well-groomed, polished nails make me feel most confident.

What is a piece of advice you would give to young women?

Be tenacious. Never give up.
