Maayan Zilberman, Artist/Confectioner

How would your peers describe your personality?

Sincere, funny, loyal, creative, open minded.

When did you consider yourself a success? How did this make you feel?

When I heard first hand from other women that the work I was doing affected their lives.

What is the biggest challenge you have come across in your career and how did you handle this?

Figuring out that being a "boss" isn’t the top job, that having autonomy and ability to create has far more power than leading a team just for the sake of it. I switched careers when I realized this about myself.

What do you do to keep yourself motivated and interested in your work?

I make sure to walk around each day, and I stop what Im doing to watch the sunset from my studio window. Perspective keeps all types of work fresh.

What are you most proud of?

Putting smiles on people’s faces.

What inspired you when you were younger?

Surrealism, experimenting with materials, and comedy.

What nail color makes you feel most confident?

Sweet Saba Red by ORLY

What is a piece of advice you would give to young women?

There's a place for everyone, find what makes you feel at home with yourself and surround yourself with people who share your vision. You dont have to win, own, or do everything to be a success.
